SACS pay tribute to Daniel Adrienne
The Seychelles Authors and Composers Society (SACS) have paid tribute to the late Daniel Adrienne.
The 43 year old Adrienne passed away in mysterious circumstances. His body was recovered in the sea close to the Nation building on Tuesday after he went missing since last Thursday.
The Anse Etoile resident is a well known artiste who has been performing on the local music scene for a long time and has enjoyed numerous successes since his debut with his now famous song ‘Nou pa kapab anpes lapli tonbe’ in the early eighties. Adrienne was also a parttime lecturer and technician at the University of Seychelles.
SACS chairman David André described his death as a great loss to the local music industry. “On behalf of SACS, I would like to express my deepest sympathy on the loss of Daniel who was also a personal friend.”
Adrienne has contributed a lot to music development in this country and was heavily involved in the Anse Etoile Choir and participated frequently in the Choral and Music Festival of Sainte Cecile each year. Chairman André added he had followed Adrienne’s progress since being his music tutor at the Polytechnic.
Adrienne also won acclaim for his song for the CJSOI games in 2008 entitled “Zanfan Losean” which won the top prize and became the theme song.
The late Daniel leaves behind two sons and his funeral will take place next week.
